Senior IT Engineer –Backup (m/w/d)

Your Role

Kühne + Nagel operates a hybrid cloud environment in several globally distributed data centers, where the global IT infrastructure provides services that enable development teams to develop and operate their applications. The Global Compute, Storage, and Backup Team provides all relevant services related to virtualization, storage, SAN, and backup for both private and public clouds. In this team, you will work with other colleagues to further optimize and automate our existing infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

• Further development and optimization of our global backup landscape and its maintenance, both on-premises and in the cloud.
• Design, planning, and implementation of new releases and updates.
• Automation of recurring tasks.
• Support other teams as a consultant, point of contact for colleagues in the automation area, and 3rd level support for all questions related to backup.
• Active participation in storage and virtualization topics.
• Participation in on-call duty on a weekly basis.

Your Skills and Experiences

• A completed degree, ideally in business informatics/computer science or a comparable education.
• Several years of experience in the architecture, administration, and operation of backup products in the enterprise sector, preferably Commvault.
• Very good knowledge of storage and snapshot technologies.
• Good knowledge in the area of virtualization and cloud technologies.
• Practical experience in the application of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, JavaScript).
• Very secure English skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong communication skills, combined with a team-oriented working style in an international environment.
• High level of self-motivation, flexibility, and innovation.
